Despite the full launch roster for Street Fighter 6 being known for months now, there’s still quite a bit about the newest characters that remained a mystery.

The grand finals event for the Street Fighter League Pro-JP went down earlier today, and Capcom put on a special showcase revealing the first full competent match footage for Manon, Marisa, JP and Dee Jay as well as Blanka and Dhalsim.

Although the finals aren’t yet available on YouTube, AlphaDog managed to capture the SF6 exhibitions and shared them online.

We don’t know who is on the controls for these matches, but they are much better at showing off the new characters’ tools and combos compared to the previous showcase and reveal a lot more of how they work.

For the matches, there’s Dee Jay vs. Dhalsim, Manon vs. Marisa and JP vs. Blanka, so we get to see a nice spread of the newest revealed characters for SF6 except for E. Honda.

Starting with Manon vs. Marisa, the newcomers show off how effective their long limbs are, especially the dancer’s kicks, and both look pretty darn scary with their Drive Rush approaches.

As noted before, Manon has a unique mechanic that gains her levels for landing throws, which appears to power her command grabs up and possibly allows her to combo into them at higher levels.

Marisa’s big swings give her a ton of corner carry, and it looks like she can continue pressing buttons after her diving attack. Plus, we get to see the non-Critical Art version of her level 3 Super Art.

JP fights with 1 hand typically kept behind his back similar to Oro, but he makes up for that with the extended reach offered up by his cane and multitude of long-range specials that seem to come out pretty fast.

It looks like JP saves his left arm for using his Psycho Power abilities, and we get a brief shot of his level 2 Super that summons multiple spirits to attack the enemy.

Blanka’s EX roll appears to be completely projectile invincible, and can combo into EX up ball on Punish Counter hits for extra damage.

His level 2 Super is similar to the V-Trigger 2 from Street Fighter 5 that let’s him perform more aerial rolls in succession, and the startup on the Blanka-chan trap looks long to the point that’ll it’ll be difficult to use outside of landing a knockdown.

Dee Jay has everything from his old kits except powered up to turn him into a much more slippery character with more combo opportunities than ever before.

The pop star can now fake his fireballs, and the footage shows the Overdrive version is very fast considering he dashes up into Dhalsim’s face and throws him from his new sway stance.

Dhalsim’s mobility through teleports and floating may be even better than SF5, but his long limbs can still very much be punished.

We’ll have more in-depth breakdowns of what we’re seeing in these new matches, so stay tuned for more Street Fighter 6 coverage on EventHubs.
