LRH Board of Trustees Thank Brimhall and Reappoint Members

Fergus Falls, MN – The Lake Region Healthcare (LRH) Board of Trustees held their first meeting of the new year last week, which included its annual appointment and re-appointment of Board members. Departing Board member Carrie Brimhall, who has served as a Trustee since 2016, was recognized at Thursday’s meeting for her many notable contributions to the organization and the community served. Brimhall served on the Executive Committee, was both Vice Chair and Secretary during her tenure, and was active on the Quality and Safety Committee.

Chad Miller and Larry Goetzinger are the newest Trustees appointed to fill open seats on the Board. Chad is a native of Fergus Falls, MN and resides in Fergus Falls with his wife, Heather, and their children, Cooper, Quinn, and Piper. Chad has been an attorney with the Krekelberg Law Firm since 2009 and splits his week between their Pelican Rapids and Fergus Falls offices. He practices in the areas of estate planning, medical assistance planning for nursing home care, guardianship and conservatorship law, elder law, real estate transactions, and general business law. Chad previously practiced with a large law firm serving central Minnesota, located in St. Cloud, MN after law school for several years before he and his wife, Heather, decided to move back to their hometown of Fergus Falls to raise their family.

Larry Goetzinger was born & raised in Elbow Lake, MN. He graduated from Concordia College (Moorhead) B.A. Pre-Law. Received MBA-Finance degree from Thunderbird (American) Grad School of International Management. He worked for International Multifoods Corp (Fortune 500 company based in Minneapolis) for 20+ years and had work stints in Venezuela, Canada, & Oregon. Larry has 17+ years’ experience as Controller, VP, & CFO of Dundee Nursery & Landscaping Co., a Plymouth, MN retail chain of garden centers, florists, and landscapers. Larry currently serves as the President of Ten Mile Lake Farms LLC, Treasurer & Interim President of Grant County Historical Society, President of Ten Mile Lakeshore Association, and is a member of the Prairie Ridge Hospital & Foundation board of directors. Larry and his wife, Beth (retired mortgage banking executive), have retired to their lake home on Ten Mile Lake near Dalton. They have two adult children and enjoy gardening, reading, golfing, and traveling.

Other Board of Trustee members re-appointed to three-year terms on the Lake Region Healthcare Board of Trustees included Deb Ferguson, Crystal Adams, Jerry Ness, Chuck MacFarlane and Scott Bauer. The Board also appointed officers for the upcoming year, with John Erickson as Chair, Crystal Adams as Secretary, and Laurel Nelson, as Treasurer.
In other action, the trustees also reappointed Goetzinger, Dr. Dustin Sperr and Dick Lambert to three year terms on the Prairie Ridge Healthcare Board of Directors. Prairie Ridge Healthcare is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lake Region Healthcare that operates under the Lake Region Healthcare brand at Medical Centers in Elbow Lake and Morris and outreach clinics in Herman, Hoffman and Evansville.

The Board of Trustees serve on a purely volunteer basis, and provide oversight of the entire Lake Region healthcare enterprise, which is a community owned and governed, locally controlled independent healthcare organization. “Lake Region is grateful for the service of the many talented Board members from the communities we serve who dedicate their time and talent to our governance,” said Kent Mattson. “Their collective wisdom and support, in particular over the last years of a very dynamic and fast evolving healthcare company and industry, has allowed us to continue our mission and set the stage well for achieving our vision, even in view of substantial headwinds.”
