Intel 12th Gen Core “Alder Lake” desktop gets substantial discounts ahead of “Raptor Lake Refresh” launch
Wccftech reports that Intel has lowered the price of their Intel 12th Gen Core “Alder Lake” series, just as gamers should now expect the 14th Gen series next month.
Intel has just lowered the price of their 12th Gen Core desktop CPUs, codenamed Alder Lake. This move by Intel is intended to attract gamers who have not yet transitioned to the present LGA-1700 platform. Notably, this platform is on the verge of an update with the upcoming 14th Gen Core series, known as Raptor Lake Refresh. By making the Alder Lake CPUs more budget-friendly, Intel could be strategically aligning itself to avoid direct competition with the forthcoming 13th Gen Core series, which might also undergo a price revision in the near future.
The newly announced price cuts for the Alder Lake series have now taken effect at major US retailers, particularly for the Core i9-12900KF, Core i7-12700KF, and Core i5-12600KF models. Please note that all of these offers are valid through price adjusting coupons.
Intel 12th Gen Core Price Cuts (use applicable coupons)
The Core i9-12900KF, boasting 16 cores and 24 threads configuration, has seen its price drop from an original $564 to an appealing $330. The Core i7-12700KF, featuring 12 cores and 20 threads, is now available at $220, down from the initial MSRP of $384. Additionally, the Core i5-12600KF, offering 10 cores and 16 threads, has experienced a significant price reduction from its debut price of $264 to a more budget-friendly $155.
Gamers retain the option of selecting from a variety of LGA-1700 based motherboards that are compatible with DDR4 memory. This provides them with numerous choices and a potential pathway for upgrades, especially for those who don’t necessarily pursue the latest hardware generations with every release.
Unfortunately, it seems that the offers are once again restricted to the US market at this time.
