According to numerous reports on both Reddit and Blizzard forums, several gamers have experienced issues while playing the Diablo IV Beta on their GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, which has caused the card to fail.

These reports suggest that the game may have the potential to damage the graphics card, causing the screen to go black, the use of graphics card heatsinks to increase drastically, and the system to reboot. Although most reports suggest that the problem arises during the game’s first cinematic, others have encountered issues at various points in the RPG.

Manufacturer Graphics Card Number of Cases

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Vision OC 12G 3

It is important to note that not all Diablo IV players who use the same hardware have experienced this issue. The flaw seems to affect users who have hardware made by Gigabyte, but it is not limited to this brand. Other reports suggest that the problem can also affect other products from different companies, and some indicate that it also puts cards such as the Radeon RX 6900XT at risk.

Although Diablo IV is currently associated with the RTX 3080 Ti issue, it may not necessarily be the cause of the problem. Other games, such as Valheim, have also been linked to severe issues with this GPU. The only solution offered so far is to limit the FPS of the games to prevent the hardware from utilizing all the graphics power it offers, which is quite ironic.

Neither Blizzard nor Gigabyte has released an official statement regarding the situation. This recent issue is also reminiscent of the RTX 3090 cards that failed while playing New World, where the root cause was traced to a failure in the MOSFET circuitry of the cards. As gamers continue to experience issues with their hardware, it is essential to investigate the cause of the problem and seek appropriate solutions.
